We visited two islands near Venice last week.. It was a beautiful sunny fall day and the islands (Murano and Burano) were not as crowded as Venice usually is. The clock towers looked especially nice against the bright blue sky.
Tom had to go on a rough TDY to Germany recently. Had to be an "observer" for an exercise and we stayed in this town on the Mosel river and sampled many fine Reislings and schnitzel. My kind of TDY :)
While Jill's parents were here we took advantage of free babysitting services and got away for a weekend at Lake Como. We stayed on the the southwest side and took the ferry to visit the other towns around the lake.
Jill and and I attended our very first Air Force ball last month. The setting was pretty good I suppose -- a medieval castle situated on a dolomite cliff overlooking the Italian countryside! www.hotelcastelbrando.com/en
Getting caught up on old photos.. These are from a trip we took to Bologna with Uncle Jim, Aunt Mimi and my cousin Jamie. JR was on cloud nine with all these cool cars. Better save your money kid!
